Tennessee BBQ turkey burgers are a delicious and flavorful way to enjoy turkey. They are made with ground turkey, a blend of spices, and of course, they call for a tangy Tennessee BBQ sauce. These burgers are perfect for a weeknight dinner, a weekend brunch or lunch, or an all-out backyard barbecue celebration.

- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 2 teaspoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon leaf thyme
- ½ teaspoon leaf oregano
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon water
- ¼ cup bread crumbs
- 1 pound ground turkey, (93/7)
The Process
- 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
- 2. In a large bowl, combine the dried onion flakes, paprika, brown sugar, leaf thyme, leaf oregano, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, and liquid smoke.
- 3. Add the olive oil and water, and mix well.
- 4. Add the ground turkey and bread crumbs, and mix until well combined.
- 5. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
- 6. Place the patties on a greased baking sheet.
- 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
- 8. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, cheese, and turkey bacon.
Additional Tips
- For a spicier burger, add more crushed red pepper.
- For a sweeter burger, add more brown sugar.
- If you don't have liquid smoke, you can use a few drops of Worcestershire sauce instead.
- Serve these burgers with a side of your favorite BBQ sauce.
