Tennessee BBQ burgers

Tennessee BBQ turkey burgers are a delicious and flavorful way to enjoy turkey. They are made with ground turkey, a blend of spices, and of course, they call for a tangy Tennessee BBQ sauce. These burgers are perfect for a weeknight dinner, a weekend brunch or lunch, or an all-out backyard barbecue celebration.

What You Will Need

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon leaf thyme
  • ½ teaspoon leaf oregano
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • ¼ cup bread crumbs
  • 1 pound ground turkey, (93/7)

The Process

  • 1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • 2. In a large bowl, combine the dried onion flakes, paprika, brown sugar, leaf thyme, leaf oregano, cinnamon, salt, black pepper, crushed red pepper, garlic powder, and liquid smoke.
  • 3. Add the olive oil and water, and mix well.
  • 4. Add the ground turkey and bread crumbs, and mix until well combined.
  • 5. Form the mixture into 4 patties.
  • 6. Place the patties on a greased baking sheet.
  • 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the burgers reaches 165 degrees F (74 degrees C).
  • 8. Serve on toasted buns with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, cheese, and turkey bacon.

Additional Tips

  • For a spicier burger, add more crushed red pepper.
  • For a sweeter burger, add more brown sugar.
  • If you don't have liquid smoke, you can use a few drops of Worcestershire sauce instead.
  • Serve these burgers with a side of your favorite BBQ sauce.
