For the Meatballs:
- 1.25 lbs ground turkey
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp onion flakes
For the Glaze:
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp dried rosemary, or 1 tbsp fresh
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
- ¾ tsp garlic powder
- ½ tsp sea salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ cup red wine
- 1 cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- ¼ cup water
The Process
Prepare the Meatballs:
- In a large bowl, combine ground turkey, parsley, bread crumbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion flakes. Mix well.
- Form mixture into 1-inch meatballs.
Make the Glaze:
- In a saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add rosemary, brown sugar, balsamic vinegar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
- Add red wine and broth to the saucepan. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes.
- In a small bowl, whisk together cornstarch and water. Add the slurry to the sauce and stir until thickened.
Cook the Meatballs:
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat with a little oil.
- Add meatballs and cook until browned on all sides.
- Pour the glaze over the meatballs and simmer for a few minutes until the sauce coats the meatballs.
Serve the meatballs over pasta, rice, or with a side of vegetables.
