These smoky bacon sausage patties are a flavor-packed addition to your protein packed breakfast. The rich, smoky flavor of the bacon pairs perfectly with the savory ground turkey, while the blend of herbs and spices adds depth and complexity. These patties are easy to make and go great with eggs, homefries, and toast.

What You Will Need

Ingredients

  • 4 slices turkey bacon, chopped
  • 2 tbs brown sugar
  • 2 tbs Italian parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp onion flakes
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • ¼ tsp sea salt
  • 1 lb ground turkey (93/7 lean)

The Process

Prep the Bacon:

  • Cook the chopped bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy. Drain on paper towels.

Combine Ingredients:

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, cooked bacon, brown sugar, Italian parsley, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion flakes, black pepper, and sea salt.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Form Meatballs:

  • Using your hands, form the mixture into evenly sized sausage patties.

Cook the Meatballs:

  • You can cook the patties in one of two ways:
    • Oven: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until cooked through.
    • Stovetop: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add a little oil to the pan and cook the patties until browned on all sides and cooked through.

Serve:

  • Serve the patties immediately.

Additional Tips

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a splash of your favorite hot sauce to the turkey mixture.
  • If you want to freeze the patties, place them on a baking sheet and freeze them individually. Once frozen, transfer them to an airtight container.
