Serve these Italian sausages on their own as a main course. Or use as a topping for pizza, pasta, or sandwiches. You can also add them to soups and stews for extra flavor.
What You Will Need
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground turkey (93/7 lean)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
The Process
- Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, salt, pepper, basil, oregano, rosemary, thyme, red pepper flakes, garlic powder, and breadcrumbs.
- Mix Thoroughly: Use your hands to mix the ingredients together until well combined.
- Form Patties: Shape the mixture into four large, flat patties, similar to hamburger patties.
- Cook the Patties:
- Stovetop: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties to the hot skillet and cook for about 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Grill: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Grill the patties for about 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through and slightly charred.
- Cut into Pieces or Not: Once cooked, remove the patties from the heat and let them rest for a few minutes. Then, cut each patty into smaller pieces. Or, leave them as large burger-sized patties and make sandwiches!
