What You Will Need
Ingredients
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander seed
- 3/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin seed
- 2 teaspoons turmeric
- 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic (or 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder)
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley leaves
- 3/4 cup chopped red onion
- 1/4-1/3 cup bread crumbs
- 1 pound ground turkey
The Process
1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, salt, coriander, black pepper, cumin, turmeric, garlic, oil, parsley, red onion, and bread crumbs.
2. Mix in Ground Turkey: Gradually add the ground turkey to the mixture and mix well until fully incorporated.
3. Form the Meatballs: Shape the mixture into small meatballs, about one tablespoon each.
4. Cook the Meatballs: Heat a lightly oiled pan over medium heat. Cook the meatballs for 4 minutes per side or until cooked through. Cover and keep warm until ready to serve.
5. Serve: You can use the pita bread as a base for placing the meatballs on top. Or you can stuff the meatballs inside warm, opened pita bread pockets. Add thinly sliced cucumbers and a drizzle of tahini or yogurt sauce.
