What You Will Need
Ingredients
- 2 scallions, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/8 teaspoon liquid smoke
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs or crushed corn flakes
- 1 ¼ pounds ground turkey (93/7 Lean, not non-fat)
The Process
1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the scallions, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, liquid smoke, olive oil, and bread crumbs or corn flakes.
2. Mix in Ground Turkey: Gradually add the ground turkey to the bowl, mixing thoroughly until just combined.
3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch-thick patties.
4. Cook the Burgers:
- Grill: Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Grill the burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Fry: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Cook the burgers for 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
Serve your burgers on buns with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, and relish. You can even try perfectly ripe avocado slices. And don't forget your favorite burger condiments, like mustard and mayonnaise, or try some blue cheese dressing.
