What You Will Need
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon dried herbs (such as thyme, basil, or Italian blend)
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/4 to 1/3 cup bread crumbs or substitute
- 1 ¼ pounds ground turkey (93/7 Lean, not non-fat)
The Process
1. Combine Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine the dried herbs, salt, pepper, garlic powder, olive oil, and bread crumbs.
2. Mix in Ground Turkey: Gradually add the ground turkey to the bowl, mixing thoroughly until just combined.
3. Form Patties: Divide the mixture into 5 equal portions and shape into 1/2-inch-thick patties.
4. Cook the Burgers:
- Grill: Preheat a grill to medium-high heat. Grill the burgers for 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Fry: Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Cook the burgers for 4 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
Serve your burgers on buns with your favorite toppings, such as lettuce, tomato, onion, cheese, pickles, and relish. You can even try perfectly ripe avocado slices. And don't forget your favorite burger condiments, like mustard and mayonnaise, or try some thousand island dressing.
